Collected Grimm Tales for Children
Collected Grimm Tales is a theatrical journey into the mysterious, magical and macabre, bringing classic fairytales to life on stage with a playful twist. Designed as a flexible live performance, the production offers two versions of the experience: a lighter, family-friendly show for children, and a darker, more atmospheric adaptation for teens and adults.
The children’s version explores familiar fairytales from a playful new perspective, combining humour, adventure, magic and just enough mischief to keep young audiences entertained. Well-known stories may take unexpected turns. The audience will be introduced to witches, wolves, enchanted forests, mysterious creatures and curious characters in a way that is exciting rather than frightening.

Step into the theatre—and into uncertainty. Six Characters in Search of an Author begins as an ordinary rehearsal, until six silhouetted figures emerge from the shadows, demanding their story be told. Unfinished, abandoned, and insistent, they carry a truth too unsettling to be contained.
Brisbane
Brisbane 1942: a big country town jumping at shadows, never knowing if that buzz in the air is a cicada or a squadron of merciless Japanese Zeroes. World War II took the city's innocence, and that of 14-year-old Danny Fisher. Danny's dashing pilot brother has been killed in the boming of Darwin. As Danny's devastated family unravels, the teen finds a surrogate sibling in Andy, one of the American's stationed in Brisbane. The American pilot takes Danny under his wing and as the tension begins to rise between the Yank and Aussie servicemen, Danny hatches a reckless revenge plan against those who took his brother.

To open our new beautiufl 151 seat proscenium arch theatre, Galaxy, located in Ad Astra’s new home at 210 Petrie Terrace this September, we will be taking an exhilarating journey Into the Woods, with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and the book by James Lapine,
This Tony Award winning musical follows the journey of characters from the Brothers Grimm fairy tales, including Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel, Cinderella and their Princes, whose wishes lead them into the depths where the way is dark, the choices are grim, where they have to mind the wolf and heed the witch.
Those who know Sondheim will not be surprised that this journey, while deliciously funny, is not for the faint hearted, nor is a wish come true necessarily a desirable outcome: in theatre, as in life, “people make mistakes… witches can be right, giants can be good.’
Though the play begins with , “Once upon a time there lived a young maiden, a sad young lad, a childless baker and his wife…” it is for the very grown up. There is the agony of lust and betrayal and missing children in the Woods.
Do not be Cinderella and get left behind. Join us in this extraordinary celebration of story telling and the wicked magic of the theatre.
