Ad Astra Theatre Company
2025, marks our ninth season and also our move into our new home at 210 Petrie Terrace. This incredible new arts complex, simply called Ad Astra, will give Brisbane a whole new level of theatre experience. There will two theatres. Firstly, Galaxy, which is a 150 seat proscenium arch theatre and then Pluto, which will be a 44 seat black box theatre.
Our 2025 season will be our smallest ever but 2026 will be our biggest. With new works and a variety of Australian plays. Productions that delight and engage, challenge and inspire.
New Beginnings
Since 2018, we have performed over 30 plays and musicals, including old favourites, Queensland premieres and new works. We have worked with highly awarded industry professionals and highly talented emerging and importantly, re-emerging creatives.
Homegrown
We have been committed to ensuring at least 50% of the creatives across each production are new to Ad Astra Theatre Company. This reflects our commitment to giving as many professional level Queensland creatives as possible the opportunity to showcase their talent.
Opportunities
Our Astra Nova program provides an opportunity for Queensland’ss emerging playwrights to be mentored by respected industry professionals over a year and vie for a place in the AstraNova showcase that opens the season in Pluto each year.

To find and nurture emerging playwrights in Brisbane.
To attract industry legends to ensure that we continue to raise the level of performance every production.
To develop an atmosphere of respect and cooperation amongst all members, so that everyone feels encouraged to contribute, to imagine and to excel.
