Mia Gimenez is an award-winning international performer whose work spans musical theatre, opera, cabaret, and contemporary performance. With credits from the Lyric Opera of Chicago to major regional theatres in the United States, she is now based in Australia and honoured to be working with Ad Astra.

She has collaborated with directors, conductors, and creatives from institutions and companies including TheatreWorks Silicon Valley, Juilliard, Paris National Opera, New York City Opera, and the Metropolitan Opera, experiences that continue to shape her artistry and collaborative practice.

    Her stage credits include the Lyric Opera of Chicago (Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg), TheatreWorks Silicon Valley (Sweeney Todd – Beggar Woman), Broadway By the Bay (Les Misérables – Fantine), Ray of Light Theatre (Jerry Springer: The Opera), and Timberlake Playhouse (Nunsense – Reverend Mother; Hank Williams: Lost Highway – Mama Lilly; The Sound of Music – Mother Abbess; Mamma Mia! – Rosie). In Australia, she made her Brisbane debut at the 2025 MELT Festival with Almost Bernadette, marking a new chapter in her performance work.

    Now based in Queensland, Mia continues to build her Australian performance career alongside her role as Founder and Artistic Director of the internationally award-winning Gimenez Voice Academy. Through the Academy, she has produced and directed performance projects and continues to foster emerging artists through inclusive, genre-blending training and mentorship. She is honoured to be working with the Ad Astra ensemble on Six Characters in Search of an Author and extends heartfelt thanks to her beautiful partner for steadfast personal and creative support.
