Lottie Banford
Props and Costume Designer
Lottie is a Meanjin/Brisbane based artist whose talents and skills span across the whole arts industry. Starting off their early career, Lottie explored the fundamentals of performance through acting and ensemble studies. Soon after, their interest in visual design and fashion inspired the exploration of costume, set, and props design. Lottie’s time is now dedicated on mastering their skills for producing higher quality work with each project.

As a Meanjin/Brisbane based artist, Lottie works in the Arts with a strong focus on performance and design. Their passions include acting, directing, and set, costumes, and props design; soon to branch out into more technical aspects such as lighting and sound. Lottie’s work stems from the concept of “spilling their own blood” through giving life to their creations all while constantly expanding their skills for producing higher quality work with each project. Some examples of this include performing in ‘Grand Guignol’ for Vena Cava (2025) and ‘Truth; From a Liars Lips’ by The Traveling Rose Theatre Company (2024).
They also won the backbone award for the devised work ‘WOman’ in 2024 and have worked on many productions as a costume designer for the QUT acting 2025 cohort. Concluding their BFA in Drama at QUT, they designed the set and costumes for their final production, ‘Bury Her’ while also acting in the show. Holistically, Lottie is an artist that strives to create bold, shocking, and unique work that speaks to who we are as people.
