Flavia Carrillo Truyenque is a Peruvian actress and director whose practice spans theatre, film, and television, with a focus on performance as embodied research. She began training at ten with the Theatre Company of La Salle Lima, performing until sixteen, before relocating to Buenos Aires to study Acting and Directing of Performing Arts at the Centro de Investigación Cinematográfica (CIC).
Her work is informed by movement-based and physical performance methodologies. Alongside her formal studies, Flavia engaged in intensive laboratories and workshops with leading practitioners, including Toto Castiñeiras (Clown), Diego Mauriño (Physical Theatre), Andrés Molina and Celia Arguello (Contact Improvisation), Guillermo Cacace (Acting Training), and Julio Bocca (Theatre Dance). These experiences underpin an approach centered on corporeality, presence, and the articulation of narrative and dramaturgy through the body, situating movement as both creative method and research tool.
Flavia has worked across independent and institutional contexts, including theatre productions, television, and commercial projects, collaborating with productions for Nickelodeon, Netflix, Stan, Canon, Coca-Cola, and Toyota, as well as cultural institutions including Centro Cultural San Martín.
Based in Australia, she continues to develop her practice within local and international performance landscapes. In 2025, she founded the theatre company Things That Happen, producing Pub Theatre monologues and a full-length theatre production at PIP Theatre. She also facilitates movement-based training for actors, framing pedagogy as an extension of her creative inquiry and fostering knowledge exchange with the community.

“This is an innovative and creative work by Handlight Production team performed by Madeline Armit and Flavia Carrillo and supported by Daniel Giorgi. The performances were energetic and full of expression in a predominantly non-verbal way”

“The standout aspect of “Destructive Nature” was undoubtedly the performers. Flavia Carrillo and Madeline Armit were entrancing—their connection with the space and each audience member felt meaningful and new. Carrillo's sheer desperation and urgency, in particular, was outstanding to witness”
