Jack Winrow

Jack Winrow

Actor

Jack is an artist, or so he tells people. This is mostly because he's abysmal at everything else, especially Maths. Mostly he just plays pretend and does silly voices or helps other people play pretend and do silly voices; every 5 year old's dream, right?

Biography

Jack is an artist, or so he tells people. This is mostly because he's abysmal at everything else, especially Maths. Mostly he just plays pretend and does silly voices or helps other people play pretend and do silly voices; every 5 year old's dream, right? He’s been known to Make A Scene with his own theatre company (Making A Scene) so there's at least some semblance of adulthood for him. He haunts the walls of theatrical institutions, frequents many a theatre and just enjoys popping up wherever he can. He’s thrilled to have made it to the Ad Astra website and hopes you enjoy reading this as much as he enjoyed writing it!

Reviews

‘The show featured strong blocking and effective use of space, ensuring that the action remained visually engaging throughout. The modernisation of the setting was reinforced through costume and music choices … which helped bridge the gap between the classic narrative and modern sensibilities, allowing viewers to connect with the characters on a more personal level.’

‘You can sense the thoughtful direction from Jack Winrow, who clearly understands these characters and the emotional dynamics between them. … Jack guides the ensemble with a clear sense of rhythm and intention, leaning into the awkwardness, humour, and tenderness that define this night- gone-wrong.

‘…the Crocodile, puppeteered by Jack Winrow was slinky and the ultimate match to the fearsome Hook.’
