Reviews

β€œWendi Lanham is exceptional as Nina, a therapist colliding against Hemming’s mistrust of the psychiatric profession, and while part of me wishes there was more of a concrete resolution to the work she and Hemming were doing, I think it says a lot of Lanham’s power on stage that I felt the same desperation she did as she was trying to reach a breakthrough with the troubled Hemming.”

β€œMy purely personal favourite performances were by Wendi Lanham as Roland’s well meaning therapist Nina….”

β€œWendi Lanham is eminently watchable as Roland’s therapist.”

β€œLed by Director Michelle Carey there’s a lot going on in this intense production. Toy Symphony explores bullying, substance abuse, death and grief. At times this play is uncomfortable to watch but it’s also a compelling look at creativity and human response.”

Natasha Ciesielski | Sydney Scoop | Read Review Here

β€œLively direction by Michelle Carey keeps us invested in the storytelling”

Suzy Wrong - Suzy Go See | Read Review Here

β€œIt is fitting that the first production in the space is from one of the giants of Australian playwriting.  Michael Gow’s β€œToy Symphony” reminds us that we should embrace creativity and difference with compassion and patience. And that there can be a little bit of magic in everyone!”

Kate Gaul - Theatre Travels | Read Review Here

β€œFrom the first moment, Wendi Lanham in striped top, black satin pants and sporting the famous hairdo, gives a remarkably convincing portrayal of a woman not only assured of her social position via the Foy wealth but also flexing her power as a liberated female.”
