Jeremy Wellwood
Actor
Jeremy has been a regular on the Brisbane Community Theatre scene for the last couple of years with performances for Brisbane Arts Theatre, Growl Theatre and Sandgate Theatre Company. Whilst enjoying his various comedic roles, he is excited to be cast again in a classic Australian drama with such a talented creative team.

Jeremy developed his love of performing in his late teens, but as often happens, became lost in the business of work for decades. He made his entrance into Brisbane Community theatre with his performance as Joe Ryan in Brisbane Arts Theatre’s 2024 production of “When the Rain Stops Falling’, for which he received positive reviews and a nomination as best supporting Actor in the 2024 Golden Palm Awards.
Buoyed by this positive experience, he has spent the last 2 years performing in various community theatre groups in a range comedic and dramatic roles. He has enjoyed honing his craft by learning from the many talented people he has met along the way as well as taking the time to study the theories of Uta Hagan. Jeremy’s acting highlights include his leading roles in “It’s My Party (and I’ll die if I want to)” for Growl Theatre and David Williamson’s “Happiness” with Sandgate Theatre Company.
He is thrilled to be making his debut for Ad Astra with another great Australian play in the role of Dick Bennett. In this role he draws upon his vast experience as a quiet Ideologue and resident pot-stirrer.

“Jeremy Wellwood as Joe Ryan was stellar, they brought the audience onside with their character, with a focus on kindness and love.”
Jack Goodall - Theatre Haus
“Jeremy Wellwood left a lasting impression as he navigated complex character emotions with finesse. As Juror 4 he delivered a performance marked by restraint and intelligence. His measured demeanour provided a counterbalance to the heightened emotions swirling around him.”
